This past week is the week SSPP HS supports “Talbot Goes Purple,” raising awareness to drug and substance abuse. The DeSpiritus class conducted some literature review and shares what they found with us this week — from the origins of “Talbot Goes Purple” and statistics to what the Church and the community is doing to help those who suffer from addiction and to what schools, specifically, are doing to bring this awareness to students.

The DeSpiritus class grills — interviews, rather, SSPP’s new principal, Mr. Scott Wilson. Mr. Cheung starts off the conversation by asking Mr. Wilson about his role and prior experiences. Following that, Mr. Wilson answers a series of questions from the students.

Congratulations to the Class of 2023! We hear from our graduates who share their feelings, excitement, and words of advice for underclassmen and words of gratitude to Mr. Nemeth, our principal who has served SSPP for the past 23 years. We also hear from our Pastor, Fr. Nash who shares words of advice for our graduates and words of gratitude to Mr. Nemeth. We assure him of our prayers and extend our deepest gratitude to him as he embarks on a new adventure.

Ashley, Evan, Morgan, Ryan, and Mr. Cheung recalls the encounter between Jesus and His good friend Lazarus who dies from an illness. Join them as they share their experiences with suffering and the last time they, like Jesus, cried.

Mikie, Paige, and Catherine discuss the importance of effective communication in friendships and other relationships, especially with teachers in school. Mr. Cheung also quizzes them to see how well they know the life of Jesus!

DeSpiritus members Ashley and Sarah share with us things that are unique to Catholic Schools and to SSPP or in their words, “things at Catholic Schools that will send non-Catholic or public school kids into a coma!” I assure you there is nothing irreverent here!
